Artist's Comments

The man-In-the-Moon is an enameled copper construction. It measures 18" in diameter. I used transparent and opaque enamels for the corrugated disk and the crescent. The overlayed face is copper foil with a clear flux fired on. The star has a basecoat of enamel onto which fine silver foil is fired. Then, a light blue enamel was sifted on, dried, then, sgrafitoed through to reveal the silver foil. A clear flux was applied and all was fired once more. The little four point stars are gold foil fired on in the final firing. The piece is mounted onto a thin wooden armature to allow the work to be placed onto a wall. It all is easily disassembled to facilitate repair should that become necessary.

This is a beautiful piece of work. It would be a lovely addition to anyone's wall. I particularly love the contrast of the dark dark blue and the bright gold coloured copper. You have an eye for the work and an obvious amount of skill. Brilliant!

I watch you? Means I don't have time to :+fav: everything I loved.
And yes, I am one of those rare Renaissance Artists, thanks.

I have watched the moon come and go for very many years. It takes the words of a poet to do the moon justice. Smitty
